TVS SDE event

On 5 December, the Thames Valley & Surrey Secure Data Environment (TVS SDE) hosted an event in Oxford, chaired by Dr Ben Attwood (SRO, TVS SDE) that brought together the TVS SDE team and committee members.

This event provided an opportunity for participants to connect, share updates, and acknowledge the collective achievements of the group. The meeting served as a valuable occasion to recognise the dedication and hard work contributed by everyone involved.

  • Hilary Fanning (SRO, Data for R&D Programme, NHSE) addressed recent national developments and announced the upcoming launch of HDRS next year, highlighting its potential to introduce innovative methods for collaboration.
  • Prof Fergus Gleeson and Assoc Prof Claire Carson examined the transformative impact of increased access to big data, offering strategic insights as well as practical examples drawn from real-world projects.
  • Sian Rees delivered a session on Plain English, emphasising the significance of clear and accessible communication.
  • Kerrie Woods provided an update on the TVS SDE, discussing our achievements and challenges from the past, present, and looking ahead to the future.

During workshop sessions, attendees had time to talk about challenges, future goals, and accomplishments from the past year. The event wrapped up a busy year and set a positive outlook for continued progress and teamwork next year
