TVS SDE is the first Secure Data Environment in the network to secure approval for routine multi-SDE working. Building on the legal and ethical approvals already in place for the TVS SDE, the new approval allows SDEs to securely share and receive de-identified data between NHS SDEs for approved projects, supporting larger studies that bring together data from multiple regions.
As part of the process, TVS SDE worked with public members to co-produce updates to patient information materials, including website content, leaflets and posters, helping ensure information about how data is used, protected and shared is clear and accessible.
TVS SDE has shared its application approach, supporting materials and lessons learned with other SDEs across the network to help promote a consistent approach to future multi-SDE approvals.
